The long awaited moment has come for all Windows users. Windows 8 Consumer Preview was finally released yesterday at Barcelona and I know some of us, maybe all of us, are so excited to test and experience this new OS. One good thing for this Windows 8 Consumer Preview is that it’s already available for free download. For some tips regarding the installation, just continue on reading.
Ok, here’s the clue. First and foremost, you must download the Consumer Preview Setup exe and it will decide which version of Windows 8 is right for your system. It will also tell you which of your apps are compatible with Windows 8 if you’re planning to upgrade your system, give you a product key, and download any tools you may need to create an ISO or bootableflash drive. Perhaps if you prefer, you can get a regular old ISO images here, available for both 32-bit and 64-bit flavors. Take note, only the upgrading from Windows 7 will be treated as a full upgrade. On the other hand, upgrading from XP or the Windows 8 Developer Preview will only save your user accounts and files, but you’ll lose your Windows settings and programs. So, here’s a piece of advice for XP users, you may do a dual-boot or just install in a virtual machine.
