Finch, Warner power Hyderabad to 184/1

Aaron Finch (88) and David Warner (58) broke through the shackles with a facile unbeaten fifties as Sunrisers Hyderabad posted an impressive 184 for one in their IPL match against the Delhi Daredevils in Dubai on Friday.

Hyderabad were stifled in the first half of the match before Finch and Warner put up an 128-run partnership to infuse life into their team’s effort which looked ordinary to start with.

Delhi, boosted by the return of their regular captain Kevin Pietersen, put up a decent performance with the ball in the first 10 overs with spinner Shahbaz Nadeem producing economical figures of 4-0-24-1.

However, Finch and Warner broke through following the dismissal of Hyderabad skipper Shikhar Dawan (33) to steer the team to a formidable total.

The Australian pair put together an unbroken second wicket stand, which came off 82 deliveries.

Finch was the more destructive of the two, smacking Jaydev Unadkat for 18 runs in just four deliveries of the 18th over, which yielded 21 in all. Unadkat was, in fact, the most expensive Delhi bowler, conceding 43 runs in his four barren overs.

In fact, barring Nadeem, all of Delhi’s bowlers came in for severe thrashing with strike pacer Mohammed Shami ending up with figures of 0/36 in his four overs.

Dhawan and Finch gave Hyderabad a steady start by collecting 56 runs for the first wicket. Even though the pace of scoring was not too high but it set the platform for Finch and Warner to go on a rampage.

While Finch struck eight fours and four sixes, Warner smashed three boundaries and an equal number of hits over the fence

Back in familiar territory after recording its biggest-ever win in terms of runs, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will fancy its chances when it locks horns with Rajasthan Royals, a team seeking to get back to winning ways, in the Indian Premier League here on Wednesday.

Two-time winner CSK will be high on confidence after inflicting a 93-run defeat on Delhi Daredevils on Monday. Super Kings needed a morale-booster like that after starting the campaign with a defeat.

On the other hand, inaugural edition champion Rajasthan Royals tasted success to start with, but failed to stop Kings XI Punjab from chasing down a 190-plus total in its last match.

Both teams have notched up a win each, to go with a defeat each from two outings.

CSK will be banking on its strong batting to give it a flying start. Suresh Raina, who struck his 20th fifty in IPL the other day, will again be the man to watch.

The left-hander has been one of the most prolific batsmen in the IPL.

The experienced Brendon McCullum is always expected to give the team brisk starts and lending him support at the top will be Dwayne Smith, who can play the big shots as well as anchor the innings.

Faf du Plessis is always dangerous and Ravindra Jadeja is a dependable bat as well. And then there is skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni — he will be eager to have a good hit in the middle. The India captain smashed 32 off 15 balls against Daredevils.

As far as bowling is concerned, there has been no individual brilliance but CSK clicked as a combined unit, as was evident from its showing against Daredevils batsmen who were tied down by accurate swing bowling.

The bowlers were also helped by electric catching by Raina and du Plessis.

Ajinkya Rahane and Stuart Binny shone with the bat in Rajasthan’s opening match while captain Shane Watson and Sanju Vishwanadh hit quick half-centuries, though in a losing cause, in the next.

Steven Smith got himself some quick runs against KXIP, but he would be keen to contribute more handsomely, and so would Abhishek Nayar and James Faulkner.

Microsoft Confirms Office 2013 as Native Apps for Apple‘s iOS and Google‘s Android mobile platforms in March 2013

Microsoft spoke at a press event in Czech Republic yesterday, October 10, 2012 confirming on the launch plans. Microsoft product manager Petr Bobek states that the software maker is planning to release the native iOS and Android versions of Office 2013 next year.

“In addition to Windows, Office will be also available on other operating systems, Windows Phone, Windows RT, Mac OS, Android, iOS and Symbian,” 

According to The Verge, who have seen the press release that they also mentions the Office 2013 will be made available to businesses in December, with a consumer launch scheduled for the end of February 2013.

“Office 365 services and other Office products for mobile (phones and tablets) will be released from March 2013.”
