NTR giving serious headaches to Kannada heroes

With more half a dozen movies releasing this summer, the busy season will be a feast for all movie lovers.Notable among the bunch of releases, Rachcha Dammu and Gabbar Singh are most awaited movies.Already Dammu and Rachcha are gearing up for April releases. While this news acts as a sweet symphony to telugu movie buffs, it is not going well with super stars of neighbor industry, Sandlewood. Here is the story behind the scenes.
Recently Karnataka film industry, Sandlewood lifted the restrictions on non-kannada movies’ number of screenings. With that Dammu and Rachcha makers are targeting more than 100 screenings each in Karnataka. The problem starts here.Already Dammu is planned to release on April 27(as of now).Looking at the past trends, jr NTR movie is always a hot cake in Kannada industry.Mainly Bangalore, Ballary, and other main cities, Jr NTR has a commanding market.Twist in the tale is top stars of Sandlewood, Punith, Upendra’s flicks scheduled for April 26 & 27.
So the lifting of restrictions and timing of Dammu is giving serious headaches to local heroes and producers.Given the quality of the movies in Sandlewood, it is obvious that positive vibes of Dammu will be a great threat to Kannada movies.Sources suggest that there is high level lobbying from Kannad stars to avoid this crisis and put brakes to Dammu.Only time will tell whether Upendra and Punit will find some luck and pull strings in their direction.
