ZDNet Korea will soon see the successor of Samsung’s Galaxy SII. Samsung was reported to have been planning a campaign in UK and one of which is the launching of Samsung Galaxy SIII. Galaxy S2, the Android smartphone which was given worldwide release dates by about 140 vendors in 120 countries commenced May last year. Since the release date, Galaxy S2 reached a high demand rate and managed to receive 3 million pre orders of the unit.
It has been rumoured that Samsung is working on Galaxy SIII but now, released date has been confirmed. Galaxy SIII, though not yet available in the market, is already coined as the “iPhone killer”. Samsung’s Galaxy SIII will be released on April this year. Galaxy S3 is expected to be using Samsung’s very own Exynos 4212 processor clocked at 1.8GHz. With these processor on the package, it is stated that it has a 50% greater graphics and is 5 times faster compared to the Mali-400 MP chip used in its predecessor. Galaxy S3 also uses A9 ARM Cortex causing the gadget to enable a 30% power consumption reduction and boosts performance up to 25%. Galaxy S3 is also rumoured to support 4G LTE connectivity and has an HD resolution of 1080P in a 4.6 inch screen which would accommodate a 1280×720 screen resolution and has an aspect ratio of 16:9.
With the rumoured specifications, Galaxy SIII is expected to accommodate multi-tasking and entertain multiple applications which runs simultaneously. For easier processing of multi-tasks, also for the purpose of accommodating game applications, Galaxy SIII is packed with a 2Gb RAM and a storage of 32Gb.
It also leaked that Samsung will incorporate Galaxy SIII to a FOLED technology which would mean that it might be encased with a flexible glass. Galaxy SIII will also sport a 12 mega pixel camera on the rear side having a ½.3 inch sensor. But rumours has it that GS3 will exhibit a 16 mega pixel camera, whether this is true or not, it would be breaking ground for Samsung to showcase such feature if ever.
S3 will also be running on the new version of Android platform – Ice Cream Sandwich. With Ice Cream sandwich, S3 will have the following features included:
- Uses facial recognition software to unlock the phone
- Speech-to-text dictation is on a real-time basis
- In place of the physical buttons, it uses a virtual button
- Allows 16 tabs in the web browser
- Improved voice integration
There is no definite date and price yet but as aforementioned Samsung Galaxy S III will be launched this April and the release will be in this order for some countries: Canada, USA, Singapore, Europe, Ireland and New Zealand.
