How to install Official ICS 4.0.4 XWLPO Firmware in Galaxy S2 GT I9100


ICS 4.0.4 XWLPO Firmware can now be installed in Samsung Galaxy S2 GT I9100. The firmware is released in Nordic countries. All the previous errors and problems are promised with solution in this new update. The camera app and flash light issues are all dealt with. It is not the official version. Here are complete instructions of how to install the XWLPO firmware update.

Precautions:

  • Your device must not be rooted before updating it with this firmware. Those who have their device rooted already and update their device with this firmware then the root access will be revoked and you will be able to claim warranty. Your Galaxy must be unlocked.
  • The process to update may erase all the data present in the memory of the smartphone. So better take a back-up for all of them. Use apps and SD card instead of PC suite.
  • The update and its process is meant for only the phones having model number I9100 and no other phone. Make sure before updating that you are holding the correct device and disobeying this may cause problems in the device.
  • At least 50% charge must be present in your phone to continue the process till the end.
  • All those anti-virus programs and security settings must be disabled before.

Procedure to Update Galaxy S2 GT I9100 with Official ICS 4.0.4 XWLPO Firmware:

  • In your PC, get ICS 4.0.4 XWLPO Firmware and Odin downloaded. When done, extract and look for tar file and Odin .exe file. Turn off to make it reach download Mode and before that open Odin in PC.
  • Press and hold Volume down button, centre key, and together press Power switch. You will see a green-coloured robot stating the Download Mode.
  • Connect the device using USB to the PC and in Odin there exist ID : COM part  which goes Yellow to inform installation of Drivers.
  • If yellow doesn’t appear then install USB drivers to the PC by following: “Settings ->wireless and network -> USB settings”. Now check the “Samsung KIES” in the check box and connect to PC.
  • Now click “start” and wait for 4-5 min to finish the process. Then, disconnect the device and reboot it.
  • To make it enter Recovery Mode, turn it off. Now press and hold Volume Up key along with home key and then turn on your device.
By now you have successfully update I9100 with XWLPO Firmware. To make sure the firmware installed in your device is the latest one, you may go to “About Phone” section of “Settings” and check the Firmware version, it must have XWLPO defined in it.
