A CCTV kit is specifically modified video cameras that is designed to capture unauthorized personnel/persons around the house. The CCTV only requires a computer and does not need a special electrical or mechanical skills.
Tools you’ll need
  • CCTV surveillance kit system
  • Screws
  • Screwdriver
  • Coaxial cables, 100 feet
Instructions
  1. Place the CCTV camera in the area you desire. You can mount it to a wall using wood screws or place it on any flat surface like a shelf, cabinet or atop a bookcase. Plug the camera’s power supply into the CCTV camera and into a wall outlet.
  2. Screw an end of a coaxial cable into the coax output on the CCTV camera. Trail the coaxial cable along the wall baseboard until you come to the computer. Repeat this entire procedure with any additional CCTV cameras, if you have any.
  3. Screw the free end of the coaxial cable or cables into the coax input(s) on the CCTV surveillance kit’s converter box. Plug the USB cable attached to the converter box into a USB port on the computer. Plug the power supply for the converter box into the converter box and into a wall outlet.
  4. Eject the disc tray of the DVD drive. Place the program installation disc that comes with the CCTV surveillance kit on the tray and close the tray.
  5. Double-click the icon of the disc when it appears on the desktop. Click the installation program’s icon inside the window that appears. Follow the menu command to install the program on the hard drive. Restart the computer once the installation is complete.
  6. Right-click the icon of the disc on the desktop. Select “Eject” from the pop-up menu. Eject the disc tray, remove the disc and close the tray.
  7. Launch the CCTV program. Simply select it from the “Start” > “All Applications” pop-up menu. Select the “Setup assistant” from the “Options” drop-down menu on the main screen. Follow the menu commands to record the number of CCTV cameras in use, what to call them (i.e., the rooms in which they are located), whether to view or record continuous video or for specific time lengths.
