Procedure to install Liquid Jelly Bean 4.1.1 Custom ROM Firmware in Google Nexus 7


As already the Google Nexus 7 is considered one of the favorite devices because of its pure Jelly Bean 4.1 OS. Now constantly developers of Nexus are continuously trying to enhance its qualities to make it more and more better. So in the process of their enhancement of device, we would like to tell that, Nexus can now be updated with the Liquid Jellybean – Alpha 6 custom ROM firmware which is totally based upon Jellybean 4.1 Firmware but comes along with some improvisations such as coming with host of Customizations which give you again best experience whole UI besides this it also has some added features that original Jellybean does not have.

Precautions:

  • First of all to apply Liquid Jellybean update on Nexus 7 you need to root the device and also unlock the boot loader mode as without rooting and unlocking you will not be able to update you device. Once you root the device, the warranty of the device is lost and then to reclaim the warranty you need to update your device with the original Firmware.
  • All the data and contents of the device should be backed up as it might get corrupted or lost during the process. But to back up the data don’t use PC Suites tools as it will recognize the device when the process is completed and the device is updated with the Firmware. Use” Call Log and Restore” to back up the Call logs and copy images, videos, files and songs to internal or external SD card.  To back up MMS and APN settings follow the path “Applications” then go to “Settings” then to “Wireless and Network” then” Mobile Networks” and at last to “Access Point Names”.
  • Before starting the process, check the battery level of your device it should be at least 40-50% so that device does not get turn off and process may hindered in the middle.
  • Enable the USB Debugging mode by following the path select “Settings” then go to “development options” then select “USB debugging”.
  • Also disable all the antivirus of the device as they may hamper the process.

Follow the steps to update your Google Nexus 7 with the Liquid Jellybean Firmware:

  • To start the updating process, download the Liquid Jellybean-Alpha 6 Firmware on your PC then connect the Nexus 7 with the PC using USB cable.
  • Once you have connected your device with the PC make the Nexus 7 to enter into the recovery mode by opening the ROM Manager app in the device and if the app is not available on the device, you can simply download it from Google PLAY Store.
  • After opening the ROM Manager app in the device, choose the option of “Reboot into Clock Work mod recovery” once you see the Clock Work Mode Recovery image in the device.
  • Further to install the zip in the device choose ”install zip from SD card” then choose ”zip from SD card” after this select “the Liquid Jellybean firmware package” which is already placed in the device. It will take around 5-6 minutes but be sure that you do not hinder the process in the middle.
