On the Eve of Telugu Serial awards, While hosting an Ugadi event, comedian Taagubothu Ramesh came down heavily on Telugu serials. Though he tried to generate fun by taking pot-shots at serials, some of his mockery didn’t went well with audiences.
He asked a straight question ”Will these serials run for a show if released in theatres” ? . Rather answering it in a satirical or comic tone, director Manjula Naidu (director of serials like Chakravakam and Mogali Rekulu) lost her control and asserted that ‘only mad people like to run serials in theatres, which are meant for TVs’. Though her answer calmed down Ramesh, the tone of it explains the anger erupted inside Manjula Naidu. Film nagar folks are saying that she cannot forget that anger in two mins like a scene in films as she is experienced to drag a two minute scene for two weeks.
