Windows Phone 7 Red Theme for CM10 / AOKP ROM

We always want to decide the way our phone looks, the wallpaper that suites, the appearance of phone, etc. This gives us a personal sense of belonging for the phone. So when various custom ROMs allows us to choose a theme for the device, we have nothing more to ask for. The ‘Theme Chooser’ was featured in CM10 and AOKP custom ROMs that offer old as well as many new themes to have on your device.

Windows Phone 7 Red theme was developed by XDA Forum Member Jonas h for Cyanogen Mod 10/ AOKP custom ROM. It is named so because it gives a glimpse of Windows Phone style to Windows Phone 7 Metro interface, including icons, toggle keys, etc. Jelly bean with this new look has attracted a lot of market.

Install and Use Windows Phone 7 Red Theme on CM10/AOKP Jelly Bean ROM

Note: The process is only for those Android devices that have Jelly bean based ROM. Also check in the 

Settings menu for the option ‘Themes’. Here is the list of CM10 and AOKP Jelly Bean.

• From the official portal of theme download the theme which will be present in .apk file format.
• Transfer that file to your device.
• Go to: ‘Settings’ > ‘Security ‘ > ‘Unknown Sources’ and enable it.
•  To browse for the file in SD card, use Astro File Manager. Download File Manager from Google PLAY store in case you don’t have it. Select the file and installation will start immediately and continue for a minute.
• Now go : ‘Settings’ > ‘Themes’. Look for Windows Phone 7 Red Theme and select the same.
• Click ‘Apply’. The screen notifies for a warning message stating –“this theme is missing assets for the device”. Select ‘Apply Anyway’ option.
• Now reboot your phone.

In rare cases, it may also appear “the theme is improperly compiled”. In such cases, you apply the default theme and the reboot the device. After this, follow the procedure again.

The process is completed successfully and you can now enjoy the Windows Phone 7 Red theme on your Jellybean based device.
