Samsung Galaxy S PLUS: ICS based Ehndroix Custom ROM Firmware Update

Samsung Galaxy S PLUS Update

The all new Ehndroix Custom ROM Firmware version is out in the market exclusively for Samsung Galaxy S PLUS. This firmware is based on ICS 4.0 firmware version. After a long wait, this smartphone finally received this ICS update from Custom ROM Developers. Though some of you may still desire Jelly Bean updates, experiencing ICS 4.0 till then will be fun. The firmware has got multiple features inherited from ICS ROM, say for example, Improved Contact list, sleek interface, Performance, etc. This is not a official version of firmware released by Samsung Electronics.

Requirements:

  • USB Debugging: It is required that you have USB Debugging enabled in the phone. To do this, look for Applications option in the Settings menu. There, search for an option named Development and therefore ‘enable USB Debugging’.
  • Backup: Installing this update will erase all the data and of course you don’t want the data on your phone to vanish. So as a precaution, keep a backup for all of it. And if you think Samsung PC Suite KIES will do it all for you, then I am sorry to say but that won’t work with these firmwares. You have only one choice left: manually take backup of each and everything. You can use various apps for SMSs, Call Logs. You can transfer Images, video, audio, files, etc to some external card or to your PC.
  • Battery: Your phone will be able to survive the procedure only if it has at least 80% charged battery.
  • Anti-virus programs: You got to disable every security suite and anti-virus program installed in your computer as these disturb the installing process.
  • Recovery: Recovery must be installed in the device before applying the update.
  • Rooting: If you have used any of the firmwares earlier, you may know that these custom ROM firmwares will be installed if and only if your device is rooted and “Root checker” App (Google PLAY Store) will help you in checking the same.
Note:
  • This firmware can be only to devices with model name: ‘Samsung Galaxy S PLUS GT I9001’. Trying it on some other device may lead to damage to the system.
  • Follow the process if and only if you understand everything being asked to do. Ask all the queries you have, we are happy to help.
  • Any harm to your device during the installation is completely your responsibility and we are not to be blamed for any damage.
  • While installing, if your device sticks to the Samsung logo or elsewhere, restart it and repeat the steps.
  • Steps to install Ehndroix Custom ROM Firmware in Samsung Galaxy S PLUS:

    • Get the package: To install this firmware, you will first need its package – “Custom ROM Firmware” in your smartphone. If you don’t have it, then download the same and transfer it to your device’s internal SDcard via USB cable. Also download “Google Apps” package.
    • Enter Recovery mode: For this either use ROM Manager App (download and select ‘Reboot in Recovery Mode’ or hold Volume Up + Home + Power keys.
    • Nandroid Backup: in recovery mode, select ‘Backup and Restore’ and follow by selecting ‘Backup’ option. Click the option “Wipe Data/factory reset”.
    • Choose the package: Option – “Install Zip from SDcard” is to be selected and then select “Choose zip from SD card”. After this, select the downloaded zip file for Custom ROM Firmware which was transferred to your phone. The process may take about 5 minutes. After this also flash the second zip file of Google Apps package.
    • Return and boot: go to Recovery Mode. Select the ‘Advanced’ option and then ‘Fix Permissions’. Next, choose “Go Back” >> “reboot system now”. This will root the device in normal mode and this may take longer than a minute.
    • Cross-check: to check if the process is completed successfully, select “About Phone” option in “Settings”. See the “firmware version” which must say ICS 4.0 Firmware.
That’s it. You have now updated your smartphone with Ehndroix C ROM Firmware based on ICS 4.0 successfully. Enjoy the latest firmware version on your smartphone.
